Obituary of Marc Antis
Marc David Antis, 74, of Sarasota, FL passed away peacefully on May 2, 2022 at his home. Marc was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Max and Selma Antis (both now deceased) where he lived for much of his life. Marc will always be remembered for his spirited personality and wonderful sense of humor, bringing laughs and smiles to those around him. He developed a love of the sunshine of Sarasota on the back of his frequent trips with his mother and decided to settle there later in life. While he practiced law at the beginning of his career, he quickly decided it wasn't for him when he then found his passion for sales and working in the interior furnishing industry. Once retired, he donated his time to helping others and the community through his volunteer roles at the Humane Society of Sarasota County, John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, and the Sarasota International Airport. Marc was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and rarely ever missed a game. He loved both playing and watching golf and living in Florida allowed him to enjoy that throughout the year. He also loved to travel and spent many of his final years getting to experience the world.
Marc is survived by his beloved partner, Jane Traub of Sarasota, FL, his daughter Jamie O'Connell and son-in-law Joe O'Connell of Philadelphia, PA, his sister Alison Wright of Arlington, VA, his son, Michael Antis of Pittsburgh, PA, and his three grandkids who he loved dearly, Colby, Brayden, and Ashlyn O'Connell. He will be greatly missed but always remembered. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Sarasota County.
