Marc Stephen Katz, of Manchester, CT, passed away Monday November 22, 2021.
Marc was born September 16, 1948 in Holyoke Massachusetts to Paul Peter and Catherine "Baume" Katz. He grew up in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School. Marc went on to received his Bachelors degree from the University of Massachusetts and Masters degree from Boston College.
He began his teaching career at The Perkins School of the Blind in Watertown, A teacher of the visually impaired for Hartford Public Schools for 38 years. When he retired, he kept busy working at an local package store, tutoring, became certified as a personal trainer and most recently became a realtor. He also played Bacce Ball at the Manchester Senior center in the summer league.
Marc was a very faithful Red Sox fan and loved the game of baseball. He enjoyed the simple things in life like gardening and reading, and was an avid collector of all things Sherlock Holmes. Marc loved to listen to many different genres of music, Classical, and Country Western, to name a couple. He also loved spending time with family and friends over a nice cigar and glass of Scotch Whiskey or Bourbon.
He will be remembered for his jokes, stories, kindness and overall amazing personality.
Marc is survived by his wife Mirna Chiarillo; Daughter Michelle Chiarillo of Manchester CT; Son Kevin Chiarillo and his wife Lisa of Bloomfield CT; and loyal pup Lola. Along with Cousins and countless close friends. He is loved and will be missed by many.
