Marcus Anthony O'Donohoe was born at St. Mary's Hospital on Galveston Island, Texas, 25 February 1960, to Geraldine Munsch O'Donohoe and George B. O'Donohoe, Sr. Marcus left this earth too soon on 26 June 2023, under the care of Harbor Hospice at Mainland Center Hospital, in Texas City, Texas, aged 63.
Marcus was educated at ST. Patrick Catholic School then attended O'Connell Catholic High School and Ball High School, from which he graduated in 1978. His education and love of learning continued throughout his life, leading to degrees from Galveston College, College of the Mainland and University of Houston Clear Lake. It took Marcus 16 years to work his way through UHCL; his single-minded dedication inspired those of us who watched him pursue his goal.
Preceded in death by his Parents; brother Geoge B. O'Donohoe, Jr.; sisters Phylis Ann O'Donohoe Nebout, infant Mary O'Donohoe; and numerous beloved friends, with whom Marcus is now joyfully reunited and happy at last.
Marcus leaves behind his family: Molly Filidei, grandson Jaxon Filidei; Sarah Morrison and fiance Heath Hill, grand-children; Stephanie and David Armstrong, children and grand-children; Sandra Morrison, Paul and Crystal Titley, children; much loved friends, Chris and Carol Homrighause, Jeanene Biasatti, and many I am sure I have overlooked.
Renaissance Man - defined as a man with many talents and areas of knowledge. This was Marcus. Nothing that is said here will adequately convey the intelligence and wit of this well-loved man. Marcus was excellent company on a road trip, he and Sandie had many adventures together. While working for the Army Corps of Engineers, Marcus took his fear of flying firmly in hand and traveled across the country many times. His love of gardening, music and comic books is well known.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, 29 July 2023, and have been entrusted to Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, Texas. Please join us at 1:30 for Visitation, followed by the Rosary and time together. Bring your stories of days gone by, and wear bright colors, if you are so inclined.
