We honor the life of Margaret Ellen Nugent, a loving beacon of resilience born on March 15, 1927, in Philadelphia, PA, who passed away on February 16, 2025. Margaret was a stalwart of support, always there to lend a hand, share thoughtful advice, or offer a comforting shoulder to lean on.
Margaret was an extraordinary homemaker, whose love for her family was reflected in every meal she cooked and every corner of the house she kept immaculate. A devoted wife and mother, she was also the proud grandmother whose eyes lit up with joy every time she watched her grandchildren play. Her hobbies included cooking and cleaning, but these were more than tasks for her - they were acts of love. Margaret's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a regular at her local church, where she found solace, community, and a way to serve others. Family and faith were what mattered most to Margaret. Her grandchildren were her world, and she was their rock, their safe harbor.
Margaret is survived by her children Peggy Kopania (Tom), Michael Nugent (Peggy), Ellen Kasman (Steve), 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Madeline Lee, her loving husband Joseph Nugent, and her sons Joseph Jr., Robert, and Daniel Nugent. Margaret's legacy of love, resilience, and thoughtful kindness will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.
Services and interment for Margaret are private at the family's request.

My buddy and second mother to our beloved and your best friend Mary Schmiedel. Aunt Peg, miss you so much... What an infectious laugh you had! Remembering our 'Saturday night dates'. When we would make song requests from Philly to my DJ in Glens Falls NY.
Oh our darling, rest in peace and thank you for being the lovely you. Our heart breaks while you had to take your own journey home!
God blessed us with you having such a special place in not only my heart, but, Judy & Gerri, Mommy Mary & daddy Harry.
Rest well, our friend!

Peggy,
I am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I remember in the 70's at St. Jerome's School. Both our mothers where lunch mom's. I loved you mother. She was so kind and loving. Always had a smile on her face. Keep all the great memories tucked in your heart. So when, things are are happening in life, you can think of her and it will put a smile on your face. This might help you move on day to day. Hope to see you at the next St. Jerome's class of 1976 get together. Be Well.
