Margaret Regina Sonn

Margaret Regina (Oliver) Sonn, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on June 3, 1933, in Franklin, NJ, Margaret was the beloved daughter of the late Wesley and Rose (Smith) Oliver.
She was the wife of the late Robert Sonn. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Margaret's role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and her love only multiplied with the arrival of each grandchild and great-grandchild.
After raising her children, she continued to care for others as a Home Health Aide with Extended Family Care.
An avid reader, Margaret found great joy in the pages of books. Margaret's love for gardening blossomed in the vibrant flowers and bountiful vegetables she nurtured in her garden. She took great joy in baking and canning with the fresh produce she harvested, turning her hard work into delicious creations.
Travel was another of Margaret's passions, and she seized every opportunity to explore new places with her family. She cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren.
Margaret's family was her pride and joy, and she is survived by her devoted children: Teresa Smollinger and her husband Frederick, David Sonn and his wife Joanne, and Elizabeth Hawkins and her husband David Yatko. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Alyssa, Sadie and her husband Casey, Robert, Max, Nicholas, Evan, Lizzie, and Victoria, and her great-grandson, Ro Wijeskera-Sonn. She also leaves behind her caring siblings, Patricia Powers,
William Oliver, George Oliver and his wife Ilse, her daughter-in-law Cynthia, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her son John Sonn and siblings Marie, James, Anna Mae and Joseph.
Margaret's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Gina Reyes and the other wonderful aides from Brightstar for the loving care they provided. Your kindness and dedication brought comfort and peace during a difficult time, and for that, we are truly thankful.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until time of the service.
