Margaret was released from her frail earthly body on October 5, 2024 and, without any doubt, is walking in the green meadows of heaven with Ray, Chris and Travis and all her beloved animals who have been waiting for her to get there.
Margaret was the daughter of Alene Baker Ellison and Elwin Bernard Ellison and was born in Nightingale Hospital in El Campo, Texas on April 24, 1953.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur Ray Wilson, and her sons, Christopher Matthew and Travis Ray.
She is survived by her many Baker and Ellison cousins; her sister-in-law, Annie Wilson Entrekin; her brother- and sister-in-law, Wayne and Irene Wilson, and her special Baker cousin, John Paul, who called her every day to discuss the daily TV offerings and the weather with her, and who brought a lot of laughter into her life. She also left behind numerous nieces and great-nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Margaret was a bastion of faith in her God. Her life was fraught with health issues but she never lost faith in Him. She was an example of what faith should really look like to so many.
Margaret attended Grades 1-12 in the El Campo Schools and is an alumnus of Sam Houston State University with a degree in Accounting. She later attended University of Houston – Victoria for a degree in Education. She taught in Victoria and El Campo school systems, retiring from El Campo ISD. Margaret had been a member of Eastern Star and a deacon of First Christian Church of El Campo. She and Ray met in their square-dance club. She is also a member of El Campo Casual Quilters, and for many years she and Ray fostered for SPOT. She also cherished the ladies in her Bunco group.
A special thank you to the staff at Paradigm on the Prairie for taking good care of her for the last three years. Also a special thanks to Clair Cerny, her roommate.
