Margaret Yeager

Margaret Earlene Yeager passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, in Texarkana, Texas. Margaret was born to Earl and Ruby Ellisor Yeager in Huntsville, Texas, on September 24, 1946. She was the oldest of four children. After living in Orange, Cleveland, and Corsicana, the family returned to Huntsville in 1959. She attended Huntsville schools and graduated from Huntsville High School in 1965. Margaret attended Sam Houston State College and then transferred to Texas Women's University in Denton. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Library Science with double minors in Spanish and History. She returned to southeast Texas and moved to Houston where she began work as a librarian at the Research and Development Library of the Lone Star Gas company. Margaret retired from South Texas College of Law. Margaret enjoyed reading, especially about Texas history and American Indians. Margaret is predeceased by her parents and brother, William Yeager; grandparents, Mathew R. and Ethel Thomson Ellisor; and Will and Alma Fredrick. Margaret is survived by sisters, Virginia Cooper and husband John; Merri Mulhauser and husband Larry; nephews and niece, Clark Driver and wife Aleta; Clay Walker and significant other Jaimie Ryan; Calvin Walker; Will Yeager and wife Callie; Missy Adams and husband Mark; great nieces and nephews, Nathan, Paige, Ruby and Tobias Driver; Colby Walker; Caleb and Kylie Walker; Wyatt and Trace Yeager; and cousins Becky Ellisor and Earl Ellisor and numerous aunts and other cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Phelps Methodist Church and services will begin at 3:00 pm. She will rest at Pine Valley Cemetery in San Jacinto County with her mother and grandparents.
