Teaching was not only her trade, but her passion. She cared and nurtured her students as if they were her own. She always made sure they had anything they needed-food, clothing, or a listening ear. A combination of strictness and gentleness made for a generous heart.
She instilled the value of hard work and dedication, and taught us to love deeply and genuinely.
She was devoted to her family and her students and left an everlasting impact on anyone she met.
Originally from Vieques, Puerto Rico, she was known as Carmin on her island home. A beloved, distinct lady who will be sorely missed.
Calling Hours to be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 3325 Winton Road South. Memorial Mass to be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at St. Marianne Cope Parish, at Guardian Angels, 2061 East Henrietta Road. Inurnment to follow at Ascension Garden.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Allendale Columbia School, an independent school of innovative teaching and learning where Maria's grandchildren attended. Click HERE to Donate
