Marian Hallman Obituary
Heaven gained a loving friend whom was also a hardworking, former human resource professional and advocate for others when Marian (Heller) Hallman, peacefully passed on August 2, 2024.
Marian was born on January 20, 1942, the youngest of four children, in a devoted Mennonite family in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. While growing up on a farm, she gained a dedicated work ethic, independence and resilience that would guide her in a successful career as a Human Resource Professional and Supervisor in the Yellow Freight Trucking industry, which was dominated by men in those days.
She married Lester G. Hampton, and raised a family, and volunteered to support Little League Baseball and other activities in the Wrightsville, Pennsylvania community, while also working, before moving back to Lancaster.
When Marian retired and lost her second husband, Donald Hallman, to illness, she moved from Lancaster to the wonderful Miramar Beach, Florida community, where she cherished her many fantastic friendships at Woodland Shores, Pompano Joe's and the local golf communities at Emerald Bay, Destin and Fort Walton Beach, with her best friend, golf buddy and partner, Luis Candelaria.
After Luis passed unexpectedly, and Marian's decline in health, she found another wonderful community of friends at The Blake at Miramar Beach Assisted-Living facility, where the staff and leadership are truly amazing. Life at The Blake was like living on a cruise ship on land with constant support, compassion and activities where everyone is so happy and grateful. She greatly appreciated opportunities to continue to give back to the community when The Blake organized care packages and holiday gifts for those in need. Her favorite organization to support was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She also helped welcome new and prospective residents to The Blake and even helped the staff with parking enforcement, patrolling the lots with her walker, to ensure the handicap spots were available for the disabled.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Anna (Snavely) Heller; her brother, Clarence, Jr.; and her two sisters, Ester Heller and Anna Mary Heller. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Lindy (Craig) Smith and son, Colonel Scott (Kristi) Hampton; four grandchildren, Jeremy Smith, Shane (Lexi) Smith, Maria (Matt) Wieters, and Dr. Kaia (Jon) Hampton; eight great grandchildren, Brendan Smith, Jackson Smith, Lylla Smith, Chase Smith, Sawyer Smith, Maverick Wieters, Micah Wieters and Murphy Wieters; and prior spouse, Lester Hampton, Jr.
