Maridee's family moved to Milan, IN in her early youth. She and her sister enjoyed training and showing western saddle horses, earning many awards including a blue ribbon at the Indiana State Fair, showing her favorite buckskin mare, Lady.

Maridee graduated from Milan High School in 1956. She then attended Ball State University and earned a degree in business education with a minor in home economics. Maridee was a Golden Rose member of Delta Zeta sorority. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Rollin, and they moved to Syracuse, IN where she began what would become a 30 year teaching career. After moves to Brownsburg and Indianapolis during which time Maridee also earned a Master's Degree in Business Education from Indiana University, she then continued her teaching career at North Central High School and the J. She and her husband spent 14 years delivering Meals on Wheels to local Noblesville residents.  She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting, as well as basket making. Many family and friends are the recipients of her hand-knit blankets, quilts and willow baskets. She helped sew over 600 masks during the Covid 19 pandemic. She especially enjoyed making prayer quilts for her church, Noblesville First United Methodist, and baby blankets for Riverview Hospital.

In retirement, Maridee and Rollin enjoyed traveling across the United States and Europe, along with cruises to the Baltic and Mediterranean Seas as well as Hawaii and Alaska. The family has especially fond memories of a Caribbean cruise to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. As a coach's wife, as a mother and a grandmother, Maridee attended countless swim meets, basketball, football and lacrosse games.
