Marilyn Jean Hutchinson, age 82, passed away on July 24, 2025 in Wichita, Kansas. Marilyn was born September 21, 1942 in Wellington, Kansas to Elton and Lula Hutchinson. She grew up in Wellington, Kansas and graduated from Wellington High School. She attended beauty college in Provo, Utah and moved to Wichita in 1964. She worked as a hairdresser for 35 years and co-owned Golden Key Salon for 25 years.
She is survived by her great-niece, Laci Jenkins; and sister-in-law, Novice Marlene Hines. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Hutchinson; nieces, Joni Ford and Julie Jenkins; and twin niece and nephew, Marla and Kevin Hutchinson.
A graveside service to honor Marilyn's life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 2:00PM at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, 1422 East Harvey Avenue, Wellington, Kansas, 67152. Her life was a journey of kindness and warmth, and this service will be a celebration of the love she shared and the lives she touched.
Memorial donations may be made in Marilyn's memory to Central Christian Church or to the National Kidney Foundation. Donations may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
Marilyn's journey on earth may have concluded, but her spirit continues to radiate in the hearts of those who loved her.
