Mario Blanco Obituary

Published by D'Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall on May 31, 2021.
Blanco 1942~2021 Mario L. Blanco, 79, of Springfield, PA was peacefully accepted into heaven on May 31, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born in the Philippines, he enlisted and proudly served in the United States Navy as a submariner. After fulfilling his service, he established roots in the Philadelphia Area where he met the love of his life of 50 years, Nelia (DeChavez). Together, they built a home and a life in the suburbs of Philadelphia while raising 3 beautiful girls, Debbie, Aimee and Grace. He owned and operated his business as a Marine Engineer on the waterfront in Philadelphia for over 25 years. In the Naval Yard, Mario was described as being hard-working, fair, and generous. He enjoyed playing cards and his poker face was unbeatable. A beloved husband, father, Lolo, Tito, and friend to many, he loved to travel, fish, and garden here and in Florida. Mario was also passionate about the U.S. Navy, his native country the Philippines and the Philadelphia Eagles. He loved to listen to all types of music and would often be seen doing his famous "Mario Shuffle" at weddings and parties. Mario's smile was genuine and contagious. He lived a life full of joy and love from his sweet daughters, devoted wife, nine beautiful grandchildren and caring son-in-laws. Mario's gentle acts of kindness and generosity will always be remembered. His family is often surprised by hearing stories of him helping those in need without any need of recognition. Mario loved to say that he "lived a good life," and his smile, that was always the biggest and brightest in the room, will surely be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, June 4th from 6:00PM-8:00PM at The D'Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall 2811 West Chester Pike Broomall, PA 19008 and Saturday, June 5th (ALL IN CHURCH) 9:00AM-9:45 AM with Funeral Mass to follow 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Springfield, PA 19064. Inurnment S. S. Peter & Paul Cemetery. A live stream of the Mass will begin promptly at 10:00 at https//twitter.com/danjolell2811?s=09 www.danjolell.com

Sending love and prayers to the entire family. It sounds like your father was an incredible man, who lived life to the absolute fullest...something he passed down to his children! May you always keep his memories alive with stories of his generosity, funny moments, and killer dance moves. Praying you find healing in these moments. With love,
