Obituary of Marion E. Barber
Mrs. Marion E. Barber, age 60, of Mayfield, New York, died on Friday, October 21, 2022 at her home following an illness.
She was born on June 22, 1962 in Gloversville, New York, a daughter of Harry and Mildred (Morrison) Carter. She attended Mayfield High School and following graduation was employed as an accounting clerk by The Leader Herald of Gloversville for over 20 years. She was a Notary Public and enjoyed her time in a local bowling league. Marion was known to love reading and going on walks with her Golden Retriever, Ella. She cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Marion is survived by her husband: Corey L. Barber; her children: Ryne P. (Sarah) Barber and Selena Barber; her grandchildren: Luna Barber and Owen Barber; her siblings: Joann (Bob) Brooks, Ronald Carter, Linda (late Gerald) Hudson, and Robert (Judy) Carter; a sister-in-law: Sue Carter; and Brenda Anich, Marion's friend and confidant until the end.
She was predeceased by her parents: Harry Carter Sr. and Mildred (Morrison) Carter; and a brother: Harry Carter, Jr.
The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of life on October 30th at 1:00 PM at Mayfield Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Bonnie Orth officiating. Masks are recommended.
Contributions may be made in memory of Marion to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
