Marjeanne Lande Obituary
It is with immense sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected death of Marjeanne George Lande (Jeannie), found at her home on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Jeannie was born on September 7, 1951 at Cuba Memorial Hospital, Cuba, New York to parents Barbara Ann (Wilbur) Edwards and the late Bud LaVerne Hewitt.
In addition to her father, Bud Laverne Hewitt, Jeannie is preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Hewitt, the father who raised her, William (Sam) Brent, and the third husband and love of her life and soul mate, Paul F. Lande.
Graduating from Niagara Wheatfield High School, outside of Niagara Falls, NY in 1969 she continued to live in Western New York state for a couple years. In 1971, Jeannie, with her first husband and 6 month old daughter, Monica, moved to Dover, DE to join the rest of her family, and where she remained. Jeannie worked in the medical field, one of her first jobs was as a medical transcriptionist at Cuba Memorial Hospital. Once in Dover, DE she continued working in the medical profession for several different doctors in private practice. In 1981 she was married to her second husband, Wayne A George, Jr., and her second daughter Jessica was born in 1982. Eventually she began a long and satisfying career, starting with Dean Witter Stock Brokerage company, and eventually retiring as a Senior Registered Associate from Morgan Stanley Brokerage Company with 33 years of service. In 2008, she married her third husband, Paul F. Lande, who passed away in December 2020. She remained a widow.
Jeannie was a creative and talented person and enjoyed a variety of crafts over her lifetime to include ceramics, cross stitch, painting, diamond dot painting, and more. Many of her relatives and friends enjoy having Jeannie's framed prints, ceramic pieces and artwork on display in their homes. Jeannie loved gardening and working outdoors and could always be found tending to her beautiful yard, landscaping, mowing or trimming trees, or lounging in her pool. She also loved her dogs and cats, and volunteered at a local Pet Smart with Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue.
She was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her mother Barbara Ann Edwards, her two daughters, Monica (Paul) Mosierand
Jessica (Jermaine) Hodges, her five grandchildren Madison, Meaghan, Evin, Kayla and Keira, a brother M.J. (Susan) Brent and 3 nieces Lindsay, Ashley and Maddie, 2 great nieces Jolie & Mila, a sister Marsha Hewitt Custer (Joe Burton) and 2 nephews Michael & Cody, and a brother Tim Hewitt and his children Liz & Rose and several great nephews.
