Obituary of Mark DeMone
Mark DeMone, a loving brother and dear friend, passed away on January 22nd at Brentwood Nursing Facility in Danvers following a prolonged illness. Born at Emerson Hospital on March 3rd 1953, he grew up on Brown Ave Ext. (now DeMone Drive) in Burlington. He lived with his mother, Mary A. DeMone (Fardy) and father, Earl F. DeMone (both predeceased), along with his brother, Gary (deceased) and sister Nancy Gilmore of Eliot ME. He is also survived by four nephews and two nieces: Michael Edward Gilmore Jr. from Chelmsford MA, David William Gilmore, Eliot ME, Jennifer DeMone, Burlington MA, Laura Elizabeth Stephens, Berwick ME and James Matthew Gilmore, Eliot ME.
Mark graduated from Burlington High School in 1972 and went on to college at Fordham University in New York City. He lived in Massachusetts most of his life with previous addresses in Bedford and Dorchester MA.
With a lifelong passion for the game of chess, he enjoyed playing or teaching others how to play or just talking about the game. He also enjoyed caring for his pet cats while living in Dorchester.
Mark will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
A visitation for Mark will be held on Monday, January 29, 11am - noon, at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington MA 01803. A service will be held at the funeral home beginning at noon. Burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery to follow.
