Mark Hancock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Windsor Locks Funeral Home on Dec. 19, 2025.
Mark K. Hancock, 58, of Windsor Locks, CT, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025. Born in Hartford, CT on January 5, 1967, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Margaret (Norris) Hancock.

Mark was raised in Windsor Locks and graduated from Windsor Locks High School. He went on to attend the University of Connecticut and built a career in media and public service. He worked for many years at ESPN in Bristol and Washington, DC. Mark was a well-regarded production and content researcher before turning his professional attention toward politics. Mark enjoyed a significant career on Capitol Hill where he served as a communications assistant in the office of Congressman Tom Marino in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Following a life-altering stroke five years ago, Mark returned to Windsor Locks to be closer to home. Earlier in his life, he was actively involved in his community, serving as a substitute teacher for Windsor Locks schools and as a member of the Windsor Locks Board of Education. He was also a dedicated umpire and scorekeeper for Windsor Locks Little League, roles in which he took great pride.

He is survived by his two aunts Olga Bobersky and Marion Hancock along with numerous cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery, where Mark will be laid to rest alongside his parents.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Grove Cemetery where they will be dedicated to future maintenance and upkeep.
