Mark Edwin Mioduszewski
Mark Edwin Mioduszewski, age 69, of Erie, passed away at home on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
Mark was born in Erie, PA on May 12, 1954 to Gertrude Rutkowski Mioduszewski of Erie and the late Edwin Mioduszewski.
He graduated from Iroquois H.S., Gannon University with a BA in Political Science, and the University of Pittsburgh with a Juris Doctor in Law. Mark worked as an attorney practicing primarily in civil litigation. He began his career at Knox McLaughlin Gornall and Sennett in Erie, where he became a partner, and then founded the firm of Marnen Mioduszewski Bordonaro Wagner and Sinnott prior to his retirement in 2021. During his time as a practicing attorney, Mark was selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer countless times, served on the disciplinary board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and was rated preeminent (AV) by his peers in the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory. He authored legal texts in civil liability and was admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States District Court of the Western District of Pennsylvania. Mark was a devoted father to his children; John, of Pittsburgh, PA and Kathryn, of Chicago, IL, and never missed a hockey game, swim meet, dance performance, or piano recital. Mark was an avid "car guy" with a special love for Porsches sharing this passion with his children by taking them to Porsche rallies. Mark also passed along his love for rock and roll music and classic movies (including Pulp Fiction, Caddyshack, and the National Lampoon Vacations series) all of which his children can recite verbatim. Mark undertook many leadership and volunteer roles in the passions his children pursed including: serving as the President of Erie Youth Hockey Association for three years, a member of the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League for two years, and President of the Villa Maria Advisory Board. Mark is also survived by his mother, Gertrude (Rutkowski) of Erie; and his sisters; Judith of Erie and Barbara Priestap (husband Michael) of Waterford, and his girlfriend Julie Morris of Oil City. He was preceded in death by his father Edwin Mioduszewski of Erie. Viewing will be held at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, September 1, 2023 (today) from 3 pm until 7 pm followed by a service at 7 pm. A graveside burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3325 West Lake Rd., Erie, PA 16505 on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 1 pm.
