Mark Howard Schaeffer, of Newtown, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 15, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Rebecca Schaeffer (née Jaffe) and the loving father of Brandon Schaeffer, of Bristol, PA.

Mark was a fierce advocate for his wife and son, a man of quiet strength and deep loyalty. He had a lifelong passion for antique cars and found joy in the timeless music of Frank Sinatra and The Beatles.

Mark was a passionate Phillies fan (enduring the really bad teams) and enjoyed watching with his family the really great teams, especially the 2008 World Series Championship roster.

Mark’s unique sense of humor was a wonderful gift to his beloved wife, Rebecca and taught her to balance the serious issues of life with the laughter of cartoons. He used his creativity by creating captions to pictures, which Rebecca kept by any place she was working.

Above all else, Mark was a kind and loving husband, son, father, brother and friend.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Mark graduated from Northeast High School in 1974 and went on to earn his degree from Temple University in 1978.

In addition to Rebecca and Brandon, Mark is survived by his twin brother, Michael Schaeffer (Melinda Shorr), and his sister, Rene Fox (Michael Fox), along with cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends whose lives he touched.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Shalom Memorial Park, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Following services, Shiva will be observed at the family home, with minyan beginning at 7:00 PM.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, American Heart Association, or the Bucks Country SPCA, in honor of a life well lived and a heart deeply loved.
