Mark Shafer, 65, of Latrobe, passed away on January 27, 2025, at Independence Health Care System in Latrobe. He was born May 19, 1959, in Greensburg, a son of the late Henry S. Shafer and Pauline (Kissell) Shafer. Mark proudly served in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement due to injuries to his neck and back, Mark worked as an auto mechanic. Mark was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching professional sports on television. The only program that could have distracted him from watching sports was any version of Law & Order. However, Mark was most entertained when he had the opportunity to spend his time with his grandchildren. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Barbara Shafer, his wife Renee Shafer, and their grandson, Kaleb. He is survived by his three sons, Steven (Christina) Shafer, Zachary (Megan Findley) Shafer, and Noah Shafer; his grandchildren Kylee, Kinsley, Kamden, Rylie, and Travis; his three siblings: David (Lori) Shafer, Paula Hall, and Patricia (David) Houpt; his seven nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. A Memorial Service for Mark will be held at 4:00 PM on January 31, 2025, at Latrobe Alliance Church, 130 Kingston Street, Latrobe, PA 15650. Anyone who knew and loved Mark is invited to attend.
