Marsha Lynn Strakal, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Evergreen Assisted Living Facility.
She was born August 28, 1946, in Morgantown, the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Krivak.
Marsha was a Catholic by faith and a member of St. Luke The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. She was a graduate of St. Francis High School. Upon graduating, she worked at C&P Telephone Company as an operator before starting her family.
Marsha enjoyed dancing, crafting, cooking, gardening, shopping, and decorating for the holidays, as well as beach outings.
Her biggest enjoyment was raising her four children and spending time with her four grandchildren, which all brought her much love and happiness.
She is survived by her brother, Michael “Rudy” Krivak. Children, Lisa Moser (Mark), Carla Frady (Dean), CJ Strakal (Mavis), and Christopher Strakal. Grandchildren, Taylor Frady, Cody Moser, Anna Moser, and Jason Frady (Emily). Her adoring aunt, Olga Gamble, and in-laws, Bob Strakal (Renate), Pauline Dalton (Stanley), Patricia Kerns (Earl), Steve Strakal (Joyce), Tom Strakal (Charla), and Danny Strakal (Becky), several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Doc” Strakal in 2010. They were married for 44 years and enjoyed spending time at Blackwater Falls.
To the Oncology Team at Mon Health Cancer Center, a sincere thank you for your dedicated care over the past four years. To the staff at Evergreen Assisted Living, thank you for your outstanding care, compassion, and friendship. Lastly, thank you to the Amedisys Health Care Team for your comfort and care in Marsha’s final days.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Saturday, August 23, from 9:00am until the time of the funeral service 11:00am with Rev. Fr. Freddie D’Souza officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
