Martha (Martin) Finefrock, 91, died on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, N.H. after a short illness. Martha was born in Manchester, N.H. on March 22, 1934 to James Smith Martin and Lillian Wallace (Abbott) Martin. An only child, she grew up in Derry, N.H. in a household with four generations of women, including her great-grandmother and namesake, Martha (Wiley) Hardy.
She was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy (1952) and Hesser Business College. In 1953, she married Charles F. Finefrock, Jr. and they settled in Manchester, N.H. where they raised their family and lived together for over 60 years. A member of First Congregational Church in Manchester for over 70 years, she served as president of the Women’s Union, was active in many church activities, and bowled in the church bowling league. In addition, she treasured her time at the family cottage at York Beach, M.E. and its proximity to her cousin Jane and her family.
Martha and her husband moved into Ledgewood of Manchester, N.H. in 2003. In this lovely 55 and over community, they made wonderful friendships and enjoyed playing cards and bingo at the clubhouse. This is where Martha met Rita Labrie, and the two became best friends, enjoying many years of lunches and shopping.
Martha was predeceased by her husband, Charlie; her beloved cousin, Jane (Abbott) Hurst; and great-grandson Charlie Finefrock of Middletown, C.T. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Dennis) Labrie of Nashua, N.H. and Crystal (Kristi) Gaff of Franklin, N.H.; two sons, Craig (Jeanine) Finefrock of Manchester, N.H. and Chuck (Marianne) Finefrock of Goffstown, N.H.; four grandchildren, Kevin (Karen) Finefrock of Middletown, C.T., Jeff (Katie) Labrie of Nashua, N.H., Krysten Finefrock of Manchester, N.H., and Julie (Tom) Greenfield of Derry, N.H.; five great-grandchildren, Layla and Violet Labrie of Nashua, N.H., Lily and Addy Finefrock of Middletown, C.T., and Charlotte Greenfield of Derry, N.H.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at both Bedford Falls and Community Hospice House for their excellent care, but especially Averey Ireland-Lewis who developed a special bond with Martha in her final weeks.
Services: There will be no calling hours. A private burial service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Derry, N.H.
