Martha Hadsel Obituary

Matha was born on February 21, 1925 in Ardmore, PA, a daughter of the late John Gordon and Genevieve Knapp Hadsel.
Miss Hadsel was a well-educated woman. Martha received her BA from Wilkes College and also her Master in English from UA College in Chicago. She then went on to receive her PHD in English from Penn State where she retired from after many years of working as a professor. Martha spent 20 years working in journalism. She worked eight years at the newspaper, Wilkes-Barre Record and also two and half years at the Dallas Post.
Surviving are her nephews, Robert (Debra) Updyke, Jack Updyke and Palmer David Updyke, and many great nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her sister, Jean Updyke.
All arrangements are private and entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 305 Main St., Imperial (724-695-2800).
