Martha M. Engle, age 83, of Dayton, Ohio was called home to heaven with her family at her side on August 19, 2025. She was born March 15th, 1942, in Estill County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late David and Polly Conrad.
Born from humble beginnings, “Marie” spent her life providing for all those whom she loved. Whether she was offering safe shelter, a lending hand, a shoulder to cry on, or your favorite meal, she was always there for you in your time of need.
When she found time for herself, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, thrifting with her beloved sister-in-law Annie, and sipping black coffee surrounded by her four-legged companions and loving husband of 45 years, Carl on her patio.
Marie will live on through countless cherished memories and family recipes which will undoubtedly stand the test of time. She will continue to watch over us in Heaven as she did here on Earth. Although she would assuredly tell you differently, she impacted each of the lives she touched.
Marie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by 5 of her siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Carl Engle; daughter Shirley (Michael) Bowling; Kenny and Jerry (Tonya) Ross; grandchildren Heather (Aaron), Misty (Darrell), Christopher (Christa); Sheena (Weston); Brandi (Paul); Brittany (Kevin); Sabrina (James), and Jeremy (Megan); 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 7 siblings; several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
