Martha Ann Tyus

Martha Ann Tyus, a beloved member of Sneads community in Florida, passed away on July 11, 2023. Born on August 1, 1964, in Chattahoochee, Florida, Martha graduated from Sneads High School in 1982 and served the Florida Department of Corrections with dedication and commitment for 25 years before her retirement in 2010.
Martha was a friendly soul who enjoyed simple pleasures in life. She cherished her trips to Biloxi, MS and relished the tranquility of fishing. What she held dearest, however, was spending quality time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father A. J. Tyus, her mother Victoria Fernandez Tyus, and her brothers Jeffrey and Mike Tyus. Martha is survived by her brother Daryl Tyus, her sister Mary Ann Cleveland (Danny), her niece Treya Tyus, nephews Austin, Trever, Kyle and Dylan Tyus, her great niece Mariyah Black and great nephew Asher Booth. Martha also leaves behind her treasured canine companions Angel, Tater, and Sadie, as well as numerous dear friends.
In Martha's memory, let's remember her love for her family, friends, and pets, her joy for travel and the outdoors, and her passion for service in her work. Her loss will leave a void that is difficult to fill, but the warmth of her memories will always bring comfort and peace to those who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Ms. Martha will be held at a later date announced by her family.
