Obituary
Marvin K. Couch, 97, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023. Marvin grew up in Charlestown, Indiana, born on April 9, 1926, to Charles Couch and Lelia Bottorff Couch. He graduated from Charlestown High School in 1944. He was a WWII Navy veteran.
Marvin married Wanda Spurgeon on September 8, 1951, and they lived in Sellersburg a long time before moving to Charlestown, Indiana. Marvin was a member of Masonic Lodge, over 50 years, and had been a Master Mason. He was active at Memphis United Methodist Church for many years. He was a retired diesel mechanic from Ryder and managed the family farm also.
Marvin is survived by his daughter, Carolyn (David) Hauenstein; son, Keith (Laura) Couch; grandchildren, Ryan Hauenstein, Kristi Martin (Reed), Keeley Banet (Houston); two great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Ashlynn Martin. Marvin is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Spurgeon Couch.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Silver Creek Cemetery. Visiitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
