On Friday, August 15, 2025, Heaven gained another angel. Marvin Lee Gallop was born March 10, 1963 in Elizabeth City, NC. He lived until 2011 at the family residence on Halls Harbor Road in Harbinger, NC. The past fourteen years, he has been a resident of Currituck Health and Rehab when he had to receive 24/7 care. Marvin Lee was the youngest child of the late Ralph Lee and Vera S. Gallop. He is survived by sisters, Sherry Rollason of Kill Devil Hills, and Kathy West (Bruce) of Elizabeth City; a brother, Ralph Gallop (Brenda) of Harbinger; and many nieces and nephews.
Marvin Lee was a graduate of Currituck High School, Class of 1981. He attended Powells Point Christian Church in Harbinger as a young boy.
He could often be found roaming the halls of the facility giving that smile of his and laughing. He was adored by the staff for his sweet personality. He loved to play Bingo and Yahtzee.
Marvin Lee you have left a big hole in the lives of those who loved you. We take comfort in knowing you are at peace!
A graveside service will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Powells Point Christian Church, 197 Church Road, Harbinger, NC 27941 with the Rev. Jack Colenda officiating. The family will greet family and friends immediately following the service. Marvin Lee will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Albemarle Home Care & Hospice, 1129 Horseshoe Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 or Powells Point Christian Church, Cemetery Fund, 197 Church Road, Harbinger, NC 27941.
