Smyth, Marvin M. Passed away on October 6, 2025. Born April 28, 1934 to Irwin and Carrie Smyth in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Resided many years in Dearborn, MI and more recently Royal Oak, MI. Beloved husband for 56 years to his late wife Janice. Loving father of Gerald (Kristi), Scott (Jackie), and Julie (Chris) Malloy. Loving grandfather to Cameron, Brandon, Aidan, Connor, and Molly, great grandfather to Ellie Christine and Remi Jane and step grandfather to Ashley and Brandi and nieces KC Baker (Brian) and Jeanne Wimsatt. Deceased siblings brother Gerald, sister Laura and twin sister Margaret. Marvin was a Fordson High graduate, a 1959 graduate of Wayne State University and a U.S. Army Veteran. His career work was in the field of Human Resources and Labor Relations. He enjoyed researching and writing about his family history covering over nine generations which included ancestors from Canada, Ireland, Scotland, England, and Denmark.
Visitation Friday, October 10, 2025 from 10:00-12:00 noon at the Dearborn Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 23701 Ford Road. (313) 278-5100. Funeral and Honor Guard service 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Interment St. Hedwig Cemetery.
