Mary M. Begin

Mary M. Begin, 77, of Windsor Locks and formerly of East Windsor, beloved wife of the late Normand Richard ("Dick") Begin, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hartford on July 17, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret (Rhodes) Engel. Mary graduated from Windsor High School in 1966 and from A.I. Prince Technical School in 1967 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She devoted her career to nursing, working at the infirmary at Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor and later retiring in 2010 from Hartford Hospital's Pacemaker Clinic. She was a devoted member of Second Baptist Church in Suffield, where she faithfully served for many years as the church's collector. Mary enjoyed traveling, baking, crocheting, listening to classical music, and held a special admiration for the Queen of England. She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Dick. She is survived by her son, Justin Labossiere and his wife, Jennifer; her daughter, Jennifer Roberts and her husband, Derek; her grandchildren, Jordan Labossiere, Ernie Begin and his wife, Libby, and Joanna Begin; her identical twin sister, Carolyn Engel and her partner, Jamie; her sister-in-law, Rita Maloney; her stepsons, Guy and Michael Begin; her great-grandchildren, Addie, Betty, Evy, and Avery; her lifelong best friends, Maryann and Jim; and many dear friends. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Sovereign Home Healthcare, especially Dorcas and Martha, for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Second Baptist Church in Suffield (Women's Choir).

Calling hours will be held Friday, February 27, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 28, at 12:30 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 100 N. Main St., Suffield.
