Mary Zoe Bowmer

Bowmer - Mary Bowmer, age 66, of Wellborn, FL, passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2024, at HCA Lake City Hospital. She was born on December 5, 1957, in Hillsborough County, FL to the late Harry Williams Smith and Gloria Ray Lee Carter. On April 24, 1976, Mary married the love of her life Robert "Allen" Bowmer. They supported and loved each other through life until Allen passed away in February of 2019. Mary dedicated her career to serving her community as a Correctional Officer at the Hillsborough County Correctional Facility. Outside of her professional life, Mary found solace and joy in various hobbies. She was an avid crocheter and cross-stitcher. She delighted in creating beautiful works of art with her skilled needlework. Quilting brought her immense pleasure, and she poured her heart into crafting timeless and intricate quilts. Mary also enjoyed playing the lottery and bingo. She relished the exciting moments shared among friends. Above all else, Mary cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and their love provided her with unwavering strength and happiness. Her memory will be forever treasured by her loved ones, who will remember her for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert "Allen" Bowmer; son, AL Bowmer; parents, Harry Williams Smith and Gloria Smith; sister, Donna Jean Ferguson; and brothers, Joseph Ray Smith and John Patrick Smith.
Mary is survived by her loving children, Matthew (Joanna) Bowmer and Annette Bowmer Poe; brothers, Harry (Betsy) Smith, III. and David Smith; aunt, Peggy Coberly; grandchildren, Shelby Bowmer, Hailey Bowmer, Triston Bowmer, Justin (Ashley) Tew; great grandchildren, Jayde Roberts, Emberly Tew, Silas Tew, and Wyatt Tew; along with numerous extended family members and friends.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Mary's Life will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 11:00 am at Falling Creek Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Ferreira Funeral Services Parlor.
