Mary Gabbard, 77, of Thompsontown, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at her residence.
Born on September 7, 1947, in Delaware Twp., Juniata County, she is a daughter of the late Keemer and Geneva (Meredith) Watts. On December 3, 1983, she married her surviving husband, Roger D. Gabbard, with whom she was blessed to share over 41 years of marriage before her passing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Josh Gabbard of Thompsontown; two granddaughters, Amira Mae Gabbard and Octavia "Tiva" Marie Gabbard; one sister, Shirley Eichman of Enola; and one brother, Larry Watts of New Oxford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Cara Leigh Gabbard in 1985; one brother, Harold "Jiggs" Haines; and one sister, Thelma Cupp.
Mrs. Gabbard was a graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and a graduate of Thompson Business Institute in Harrisburg.
She was employed and retired as a Secretary with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the Loysville Youth Development Center.
Mary was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading murder mysteries.
All Services and Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Gabbard's memory can be made to the Juniata County Food Pantry, 114 North Main St., P.O. Box 44, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
