Mary Margaret Hargadon

Mary Margaret Hargadon, 81, L.C.S.W., L.M.F.T., beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, colleague and friend was born on September 12, 1943 and passed away peacefully at Nazareth Home Clifton on July 24, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Cherished daughter of Angela Skees Hargadon and Charles Donohue Hargadon (both predeceased), treasured sister of Barbara Dawson (deceased), Sheila Otte (Frank), Kate Butler, Greg Hargadon (Michele) and Angie Hall. Beloved mother of Molly Behrendt and Suzannah Dahl (Michael) and loving "Marmie" to Dean Behrendt and Amelia and Abbott Dahl.

Called by Faith, Mary entered the Sisters of Loretto Order where her Formation shaped a deep commitment to social issues. Mary entered Webster College, where her mother also had attended, and there she earned a bachelor's degree in history, with minors in social science and theology; and a master's in social work from the University of Kansas.

Mary's professional journey included training in marriage and family therapy from the Menninger Clinic in Kansas City and certification in Jungian Psychotherapy from the C. G. Jung Institute in Chicago. Many fondly remembered Mary as an accomplished chef with an associate's degree in culinary arts.

Visitation on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 9-11am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Mary's memory to The Sisters of Loretto or The Abbey of Gethsemani.
