MARY G. HOBBS (nee Glazier), age 88. Beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Hobbs. Devoted mother of Jeffrey Hobbs (deceased) and Jody Hayes (Patrick); loving grandmother of Jack, Elizabeth and Valerie Hayes. Passed away March 4, 2025.
Mary was born in Jefferson, Ohio, daughter of the late Everett and Margaret Glazier. She graduated from Jefferson High school in 1954, then enrolled at Baldwin Wallace College where she earned her M.A. Degree in 1959. While attending Baldwin Wallace, she met her husband, Jack. They were married in 1956. During their early years together, Jack's profession took them to different locations including Texas, and California. Ultimately, they settled in Chagrin Falls where she lived for over 52 years.
Mary was a fashion and furniture illustrator for 40 years as well as a commercial artist for pets, children, flowers and homes. She never really retired.
Mary was very active in her life. She was a majorette in high school and college. Later, she enjoyed bowling, softball and tennis. She was also an avid 41-year member of a recovery group.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mary's memory to Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Rd., Novelty, OH 44072.
Funeral Service Friday, March 14, 2025 at Federated Church at 4:00 p.m. Interment private. The family will receive friends at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 95 S. FRANKLIN ST., CHAGRIN FALLS THURSDAY, MARCH 13 FROM 1 TO 3 AND 5 TO 7 P.M.
