Mary Holt

Mary Regina (Cantino) Holt, of Ayer and a longtime resident of Maynard and Littleton, passed away peacefully at the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester. She was eighty-eight years old.
Mary was born in Concord, daughter of the late Samuel and Virginia (Pareago) Cantino. The only daughter of four children, Mary grew up in Maynard and was a graduate of Maynard High School. She worked for many years as a bank teller at the former Baybank as well as the Hanscom Credit Union. She also worked a number of years for the former Anderson Ford in Acton.
Mary found joy in spending quality time with family and friends. She adored the Boston Red Sox and rarely missed a game. Her passion was truly unmatched. She loved to play bingo, do puzzles, and keep up with the latest Hallmark movie releases. She took great delight in trips to the casino where she always brought luck, laughter, and good times. Everyone who knew Mary knows she was a social butterfly. She felt immense pride in always being there for anyone in need. Her kind soul and warm smile were sources of comfort to many.
Mary is lovingly survived by her two children, Susan Strickland and William Holt, along with Susan's husband, Jason. She also leaves a brother, Edward Cantino, and his wife Nancy of Colorado. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Ralph and Frank.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, June 26th from 9:30-11:30AM in the Acton Funeral Home at 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111), Acton. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Great Road, Maynard. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to either The Jimmy Fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Mary's honor.
