Mary McCarty

Mary C. McCarty, 83, of Media, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023
Born December 19, 1939 in Errisbeg Roundstone, County Galway, Ireland, she was a daughter of the late John and Bridget (Conroy) King.
Attending schools in Ireland, she then came to the United States in 1958 and later became a U.S. citizen. After coming to the United States, she worked in food services.
She later took classes and was employed as a paralegal and a real estate agent. She then worked in banking for several years, retiring from Malvern Federal Savings Bank.
Mary enjoyed caring for others and spending time with her grandchildren. The grandkids loved the visits from their "Mimi". Growing up in the countryside of Ireland, Mary liked the outdoors and was always fond of animals.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Stacey) McCarty and Timothy (Jennifer) McCarty; three grandchildren, Cole, Gavin and Tyler McCarty and two sisters, Anne (David) Heller and Ellie (James) Conneely.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald McCarty, Sr.
Friends are invited to attend visitation from 6-8 PM, Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Cavanagh Patterson Funeral Home, 43 E. Baltimore Avenue, Media. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 11, 2023 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 30 E. Franklin St., Media. Committal services and burial will follow in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
