Mrs. Mary Lou McWilliams, 82, peacefully entered her heavenly home at 2:40 a.m., Monday, July 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving daughters and husband of over 60 years.
She was born at home on Thursday, December 10, 1942, to the late Robert E. and Betty J. (Ringer) Martin in Monrovia, Indiana.
Mary Lou was a 1960 graduate of Monrovia High School. She chose to stay at home to raise her daughters for several years, later rejoining the workforce as an administrative assistant, retiring from Eli Lilly & Company in 2000. She enjoyed attending and supporting the Evangelical Methodist Church.
Mary Lou loved gardening, reading, crafts, painting, sewing and cooking. She served with her husband on 15 work & witness trips, including locations in Africa, Brazil and Dominican Republic.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace H. "Wally" McWilliams whom she married on February 6, 1965; daughters, S. Daree Fry (Steven) of Martinsville, Indiana, Greta D. Steinert (Mark) of Inman, South Carolina; grandchildren, Kylan Steinert (Victoria), Jordan Groover (Curtis), Kayla Jones (Brandon), Jessica Boshaw (Brandon), Jackson Fry; great grandchildren, Luna, Lincoln, Magnolia, Juliet, Cora Faith; sister, Barbara J. Shockley (Vernon) of Edinburgh, brother, Don E. Martin (Vicky) of Mooresville, and sister-in-law, Linda Martin of Martinsville and many other extended family members.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Betty Martin; brother, Jerry Martin; five grand and great-grand angel babies.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville, Indiana. Mary Lou's son-in-laws, Mark Steinert and Steve Fry will be officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, Indiana.
