Mary Ellen Morgan, a resident of Madison Heights, MI, departed this world on March 29, 2024, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 10, 1941, in Petros, TN, the daughter of the late Joseph and Annie Goddard. She married John F. Morgan on January 14, 1967, in Morgan County, TN.
Mary was primarily a homemaker, dedicating herself to the nurturing and care of her family. Her passions were baking, gardening and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed walking around her neighborhood. Her greatest source of happiness was found in spending quality time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Cheryl (Jim) Brennan, Debra (Allen) Teuscher, and Donna (Leo) Smith; her grandchildren: Kyle, Conor, Lukas, and Audrey; as well as her brother, Glenn Goddard. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jane; her husband, John; and ten brothers and sisters.
Visitation to honor Mary's life will be held at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors, Royal Oak (705 W. Eleven Mile Rd.) on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Aunt Mary Ellen was about 9 years older than me. When we visited from Savannah in the 1950´s and 60´s , I loved helping her make fudge. She would test the right stage, dropping a drop of chocolate in a glass of cold water till it hit the ball stage! Then, we´d go out and play kick the can with Glynn and Billy. Always smiling, always fun! We had fun walking up to the Stoneciphers and visiting with Nate and Tessie. My deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother! All 8 Goddard girls are together again.

I will always have fond memories of Aunt Mary Ellen. Whether it be when Mary and John were dating when I was a little kid. The many times she would come back to visit in Tennessee. The frequent phone calls to keep in touch over the years.
She would always be able to put a smile on your face no matter what your mood. Even now as I'm writing these memories with a smile and tears running down my face.
MARY WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED AND MISSED
Love and Condolences to the Family

I grew up across the street from Mary, John and all of their girls. They were the best neighbors! Mary was always gardening and baking biscuits which she would bring across the to us street on Sunday mornings. She was so much fun and always laughing. She was very kind hearted and we all loved her so very much! We always enjoyed her whit and wisdom and have carried her influence in our lives since childhood. My family sends their deepest love and condolences to Cheryl, Debbie, Donna and their families.
