Aunt Mary Ellen was about 9 years older than me. When we visited from Savannah in the 1950´s and 60´s , I loved helping her make fudge. She would test the right stage, dropping a drop of chocolate in a glass of cold water till it hit the ball stage! Then, we´d go out and play kick the can with Glynn and Billy. Always smiling, always fun! We had fun walking up to the Stoneciphers and visiting with Nate and Tessie. My deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother! All 8 Goddard girls are together again.

I will always have fond memories of Aunt Mary Ellen. Whether it be when Mary and John were dating when I was a little kid. The many times she would come back to visit in Tennessee. The frequent phone calls to keep in touch over the years.
She would always be able to put a smile on your face no matter what your mood. Even now as I'm writing these memories with a smile and tears running down my face.

I grew up across the street from Mary, John and all of their girls. They were the best neighbors! Mary was always gardening and baking biscuits which she would bring across the to us street on Sunday mornings. She was so much fun and always laughing. She was very kind hearted and we all loved her so very much! We always enjoyed her whit and wisdom and have carried her influence in our lives since childhood. My family sends their deepest love and condolences to Cheryl, Debbie, Donna and their families.
