Mary “Peggy” M. (Stefanelli) Devine
Mary M. (Stefanelli) Devine was taken by the hand of her Lord on Tuesday morning, May 7, 2024 at her home with her family by her side.
Peggy was born in Erie, PA to her parents, the late Romolo and Elizabeth (DeSantos) Stefanelli. She worked in their family business, “Stefanelli’s Candies” where she worked on the candy line and in sales having candy parties. She later worked at many local restaurants in the Erie area. She also worked as a nanny for many families in the area. However, her time was primarily spent caring for her family.
Besides her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dayton Devine, Jr. in 2012. Also two brothers, Arthur and Anthony Stefanelli and four sisters; Norma, Viola, Alice, and Little Norma.
She is survived by her four children who she raised with unconditional love. Sons: David (Sharon), Edward (Cindy), Charles (Angie) and daughter, Lisa (Dennis) Glasser. Her grandchildren: Denny (Stephanie), Autumn, Charlie, Brenna, Rachel, Hannah, Josh, and great-grandchildren: Adriana, Lilliana, and little Ty and her many cousins, nephews and nieces.
She loved baking her famous homemade pizza, bread, and rolls for family and friends. But Sunday dinners gave her the most joy with her entire family together for spaghetti dinner! For her love of family was everything! She touched so many people in her life with her generous love, kindness, and humor. She will be forever missed! God Speed!
