Mary Jane (Taylor) Sermersheim, 102, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024. She was born on September 18, 1921, to the late Guy and Minnie (Wine) Taylor. Mary Jane was married to her loving husband, Elmer for 64 years until his death in 2007. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy McLain and Ruth McGee; daughter, Barbara Sermersheim; one granddaughter; and one great-great grandson.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Jim) Hilpp; grandchildren, Scott (Debbie) Hardin, Tina (Mark) Roberts, Melanie (Ben) Bowzer, and Adam (Sara) Hilpp; six great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Mary Jane demonstrated a strong faith in the Lord throughout her life. She loved her family with all her heart, was a constant source of strength, support, encouragement, understanding and humor to them and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Mary Jane's life will be at noon on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Legacy Funeral Home - Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd with burial at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 4 pm to 8 pm and on Thursday from 11 AM until time of the service.
