Born April 8, 1931, in Cumberland, MD, Ms. Slider was the daughter of the late Channing Jones and Margaret (Robinson) Jones.
Mary was preceded in death by her daughter: Patricia Slider; her sons-in-law: Gary Denson and Larry Ritchie; and siblings: Carl Jones, Charles Jones, Jack Jones, Robert Jones, Hazel Skelley and Anna (Pat) Good. Mary was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mary is survived by her children: Carol Denson (Dave), Sandra Ritchie, Fred Slider (Cathy), Tammie Bracken (Tim), and Tinia Nield (like a daughter); her grandchildren Cheryl Cottone, Malissa Whisner, Christie Beeler (Shawn), Randy Ritchie (Shannon), Courtney Martinson (Glen), Rusty Slider, Raymond Sirbaugh (Danielle), Cassie Hardester (Matt), Stephanie Bracken (Nate), and Jenna Darr (Eric); Several great grandchildren (with one on the way) and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by special niece: Margie Conrad, who even though they lived in different cities they would talk on the phone every evening and watch Wheel of Fortune together; her special long-time friend: Verna Fisher; and our loving Nancy Skelley who looked out for mama.
A very special thank you to mama's friend that always made her beautiful, her beautician Gidget Keller.
Mama was blessed to have so many people that loved her. If you knew Mary Slider, you knew she loved BINGO!
She retired from Lions Manor Nursing Home, as a Nurse's Aide, after 23 years of service.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Bruce McBride officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
