Daughter of the late Mary Buzgo and George Buzgo, she is predeceased by her spouse of over 50 years Edward J Sokolowski Sr., her siblings George (Ann) Buzgo, Rose (Julius) Kardos, Julia (Mike) Adams, Ann (Wayne) Meckel, daughter-in-law, Lisa Black Sokolowski. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Russell) Mich Jr., her son, Edward J Sokolowski Jr., Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John (Rose) Sokolowski, grandchildren, Kelly (Nathan) Longstreet, Jason Mich, great grandchildren, Chelsea Deeds, Brianna and Kylie Longstreet, great- great-grandchildren Emma and Lily, Lifelong friends, Ann Pabian, Cecilia Black, Evelyn Prati. Many nieces and nephews especially, Rosemarie Schwarz.
Mary enjoyed crafting and music; you could hear her beautiful voice in the St Stanislaus choir, she was also a member of the St. Stanislaus PTA and Sacred Heart Altar Rosary Society. She was employed with the Switlik Parachute Company where she designed and made life rafts, life jackets and parachutes that saved many lives. She loved playing bingo, especially at Care One. Mary was a kind, generous person who shared love to so many people, she will be truly missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, donations or Mass Cards may be made in Mary's name to Sacred Heart Parish, 343 S Broad St, Trenton, NJ 08608, Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101, or to Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph 5229 South Park Ave, Hamburg, NY 14075.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday May 10, 2024 at Holy Cross Church 218 Adeline St, Trenton, NJ 08611. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening 6:00 ~ 8:00 pm with Rosary prayer at 6:00 pm and Friday morning from 8:00 ~ 9:00 am at the funeral home, burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Hamilton NJ.
