Mary Lois Stiner, age 90, of Byrneville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024.
Mary was born on January 3, 1934, to Charles and Cleatis (Maymon) Smith in Byrneville, IN. A lifelong resident of the community, she worked as a seamstress for Seinshimer & Co. and was known for her strong work ethic and kind spirit. In her personal life, Mary married George Stiner of Middletown, IN, and together they made their home in Byrneville, where they shared many happy years.
Mary was a devoted member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Byrneville, and she found great comfort in reading her Bible. She also cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, Jenny, and her cat, Susie, who brought her much joy throughout her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Cleatis Smith; her brothers, Donald Smith and Charles W. Smith; and her husband, George Stiner.
She is survived by her nephews, Terry (Carol Sue) Smith, Gary (Myra) Smith, and Greg (Bobbie) Smith, and her niece, Sandy (David) Kunnecke. Mary's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Swarens Funeral Home, Ramsey, IN. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place in the Byrneville Cemetery.
