To Lynnette, Juney, Lane and the entire White-Claiborne family. My heart is with yours as you bid farewell to your beloved Mathilda. To some she was Teal, to some Mama White; to me, she was Miss Mathilda. A woman for whom I have great respect.

Reading about her personal, professional and community life, which describes an eloquent account of her good character and the love she poured out on her family, only enhances the level of respect and admiration I have for her.

As her family has noted: "Mathilda's passing marks the end of an era, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren and the countless lives she touched."

I´m one of those countless people. And her kind and graceful spirit will always live on in my heart.

To family and friends; may God´s comfort and grace pour down on each of you. And, may the sweet, sweet memories you shared with your beloved Mathilda... carry you in the days ahead... and always.

With profound love, deepest sympathy, and eternal hope...
