Matt was a wonderful human and his positivity always amazed me. His family and the world deserved more time with him in it. I am deeply saddened by his passing and am blessed that I knew him, even if only as a coworker. May his memory be a blessing to all those that loved him and grieve.

Hello, my name is Matt Witmer, I know Mr. Chorley from working alongside him in the Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry. We first met while he was employed at Lonza - Walkersville.

I want to extend my deepest condolences to his family, he constantly spoke about his wife and children, and his remarks were always of the highest love and pride for his family.

Additionally, Matt was a beautiful soul; whenever he entered the building, I noticed and reacted strongly to his energy. Matt always wore a big beautiful smile, often coming in after a long run or cycling exercise. He always had time for me, even when his list of priorities was deeper than the day is long. Matt would pause anything to help me (a very young man in the industry at that time) understand the ins and outs of the regulatory and quality compliance role. During these mentorship moments, he would share about his children and family, always happy to hand down life lessons and aspirations for my own future.

I am a very emotional and compassionate person, and I do indeed say that I love Matt. His personality and spirit is something rare in this industry, even more rare in the world. Looking up to Matt was an instinct, my soul knew he was a perfect guiding light for how I wanted to present myself when I make it to a Quality Assurance role like his.

Today, the parts of his life that he was gracious enough to share with me, has left an indelible mark on who I am as a man and a quality specialist. The energy he brought to the table is exactly how I conduct myself today; because of Matt, I now have similar young professionals looking up to me and praising me for the positive take I deploy in my new Quality Assurance role here (finally made it fully into Quality Assurance this March, some 8 years after meeting Matt).

I want to extend warm, loving, and caring energy to the Chorley family and friends; this is a sad time, and I am here for anyone that needs a reminder of how far his loving arms reached throughout his time here on earth. As he reflects from the next part of life, we will be smiling back at him, thanking him for all the light he shined upon us.

Best Wishes and Warm Regards,

Matt Witmer
