These came across my memories today. I am sure you remember my pink Sony camera that you so graciously always participated in photos I wanted-and I needed your long arm, you know, since I´m short and all.
The ones we´ve lost are always on my mind because I´m just not the type of person to forget them. Lately, all I think about are those that are gone. Your death hit hard because you always told me to keep going, like you had a 6th sense when I was in so much pain physically & mentally that I had unwanted thoughts. I could always expect a text, call or Facebook message checking in bringing me out of my own head.
I think I needed to see these today to remind me that I´m more than sickness. I am more than a career. I´m more than being someone´s potential spouse and I don´t have to have kids. The rest of my time can be beautiful as long as I keep trying.
I don´t know why God chose you but I know he doesn´t get it wrong as hard as that is for me to say. We were so alike in many ways. You protected me like a sister. I hope seeing these photos today brings me the strength to keep up the fight. To find my new normal. To not give in to that voice that tells me that I´m never going to be enough.
Thank you, Matt, for being a rock regardless of time that went between us talking, or no matter what was happening in our lives. I always knew I could come to you and you to me. I am blessed to have loved you as my friend and just for knowing you.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. My prayers go out to Salina and all of Matt's family and friends. I remember very well Matt being kind and always respectful. I knew Matt through his mom and playing football with my son. Again, my deepest sympathy to ALL who knew and loved Matt.
