Matthew Glennon

Matthew Glennon, 37, of Scranton passed away upon arrival at Geisinger Community Medical Center on July 11, 2025. Born in the Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late George and Anna Glennon of Scranton. Matthew often spent his free time at his parents' home, always lending them a helping hand. One of his favorite things was laughing with his mother at the kitchen table. His younger brother, Sean, was his best friend. Matthew was a graduate of West Scranton High School and employed by the Maid Rite Company in Dunmore. Music meant everything to him-it was how he connected with the world and the people in it. Above all else, though, his greatest joy in life was being a father. He adored his daughter, Autumn, and cherished every moment he spent with her. Matthew was endlessly proud of her, and his love for her could fill oceans.

Matthew is survived by his daughter, Autumn Kapelan, his parents, Anna and George Glennon, his siblings, Sean Glennon and Geoff Kaplan, his niece, Alivea Glennon, his nephew, Cameron Glennon, and his significant other, Lucy Smith.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 12:00 P.M. at the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home 2025 Green Ridge Street, Dunmore. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the service time. Anyone is more than welcome to stay for the memorial service.
