Age 23, of Braceville, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Morris Hospital. Despite lifelong medical challenges, Matthew faced every obstacle with courage and resilience. Most recently, he bravely battled Ewing Sarcoma, demonstrating unwavering strength and determination.
Born on October 1, 2001, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, Matthew David was a beloved twin son to Valerie Jones. From his very first moments, he proved to be a fighter with a spirit that could not be dimmed. Raised in southern Grundy County, Matthew found joy and purpose in connecting with others as in influencer through his YouTube channel, Wildswayz. His passion for gaming, LEGO creations, and ghost hunting brought light and joy to those around him. Known for his matchmaking skills, Matthew had a unique ability to bring people together.
Family was at the heart of Matthew's world. He cherished time spent with loved ones, excelled in his role as an uncle, and found immense joy in holiday traditions, especially Christmas. His warm presence, loving nature, and infectious enthusiasm made every gathering brighter.
Matthew will be remembered for his enormous heart, his willingness to help others without hesitation, and his steadfast faith in God. Though he could be stubborn at times, his loyalty and kindness knew no bounds. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Matthew's legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched with his compassion, humor, and unwavering love. He leaves behind cherished memories and a reminder to live life with courage, kindness, and an open heart.
Rest peacefully, Matthew. Your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved you.
Survivors include his loving wife, Destiny (nee Hall), whom he married August 13, 2023 in his grandmother’s backyard; his mother, Valerie Jones of Dwight; twin sister, Katie (Blayne) Adams; brothers: Josh and Cody Carmon and his best friend Jacob Rosenthal, who was like a brother; nieces and nephews: Jayden, Jordan, Tristan, Kadan, Isabella, Amaria and Nancy, as well as his special niece, Sophia; aunts and uncles: Richard (Susan) Jones, Pastor Ken (Jo Ann) Jones, Calvin (Lori) Jones, Patrick (Carey) Jones, David (Jessica) Jones, and Debbie Sanders; several great aunts and uncles; his father and mother-in-law: Jeffery and Roseanne Odam of Diamond, and brothers and sisters-in-law: Michelle Hall, Betty Hall, Kyle Odam, Ashley Odam, Natasha Odam, Amber Odam, Jeffery Odam, Andrew Odam, Scott Odam and James Odam.
Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Pastor Raymond and Jeanette Jones.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Christian Life Assembly, 2960 East Division Street (Illinois Route 113) in Diamond on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until time of service 4:00 p.m. Pastor Randy Adams will officiate.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Matthew’s memory to his family for their distribution.
