Matthew D. Welch, a cherished family man, esteemed colleague, and beloved friend, passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2024 at the age of 39. Born on October 6, 1984, in New Haven, Connecticut, Matt grew up to be a person whose warmth and charisma were felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A graduate of Uxbridge High School, Matthew shone brightly both academically and athletically, proudly serving as captain of the football team. Furthering his education, Matthew attended the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, where he made lasting friendships.
For eight years, Matthew was a dedicated foreman at Upper Blackstone Clean Water in Millbury, where his work ethic and commitment to excellence set a standard for all. His colleagues respected him for his fair leadership and his ability to inspire teamwork and camaraderie. Matthew's professional life was marked by the same integrity and passion that he brought to every aspect of his life.
Matthew's greatest joy and proudest achievement were his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Jaimy L. (Juskavitch) Welch, and cherished children, Cameron, Chloe, Ace and Everly. He was a beacon of love and guidance for his children, embodying the role of "the best dad in the world." He is also survived by his beloved mother, Kathy (Kever) Pandofi and her husband Gary of Uxbridge, his brother Christopher R. Welch of Oxford, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews will remember Matt as the family's cornerstone, always ready with support and a trademark smile that could light up any room.
Known affectionately as "The Matt Welch," he was a social guy whose presence was a source of joy at gatherings. Matthew's ability to connect with people was unparalleled, and he cultivated countless friendships that stood the test of time. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was often described as a selfless individual who put the needs of others before his own.
Matthew's interests and hobbies were as vibrant and diverse as his personality. He was an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular love for football-a passion that traced back to his high school days. The mountains in New Hampshire and Cape Cod held a special place in his heart, serving as a backdrop for many cherished family memories. You could always find Matt enjoying time with his family outside, or smiling ear to ear enjoying a conversation with just about anyone. Matthew embraced life with zeal and a sense of adventure.
Matthew D. Welch lived a life full of purpose and joy, and his spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of the lives he touched. As we say goodbye, we take solace in the knowledge that his story does not end here, for the love he shared will continue to resonate and inspire for generations to come.

Matt was a very special human being. I loved watching him on the football field and later in life as he showed sheer joy for his family. I will see your smile forever. Thank you for being such a good friend to my son
