1943 - 2023
Maynard "Irish Kelley" McMorris, 79 of Pensacola, FL passed away August 2, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Smith McMorris; and his maternal grandparents, John and Nancy Landsdon Kelley.
Maynard leaves behind a host of loved ones daughters, Teresa (David) Caldwell, Donna Jean (Steve) Tate; grandchildren, Thomas (Amber) Caldwell, Kimberly (Kendall) Brown, Taylor Tate, and Tyler Tate; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rena (Frank) Lynn; the brother of his heart, Walter (Jane) Vaughn; daughter of his heart, Carol (Jamie) Parker; mother, Edith Shear; brothers, James M Blakeney (Andrea), John (Joyce) Blakeney; and one sister, Beverly Ross.
He was a lifelong resident of Pensacola, who was raised and also lived in the Ensley area for the majority of his life. Maynard was known by many as "Irish Kelley", the name his maternal grandparents and neighbors had for him.
He retired from Bluelinx (Georgia Pacific) after 25 years.
In the late 60's he could be found flying around the racetrack at Five flags Speedway. Maynard had a love of racing that brought on an uncanny knack of being able to work on most vehicles. He was a member of the Real Steel Car Club.
He had two special companions in the last years of his life, his dogs Molly and Lucky. The love of good dogs can do wonders.
