Mel J. Boschert, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at the age of 95. Loving husband of Mildred "Millie" Boschert; beloved son of the late Fred W. and Viola M. Boschert; devoted father of Julie (Al) Poelker and Steve (Laurie) Boschert; cherished grandfather of Katelyn Poelker Ph.D., Lauren Poelker, and Dr. Emily Boschert M.D. (Jacob Lynch); dear brother of Virginia Howe, Kathleen (Bill) Moschel, and Ron (Cindy) Boschert; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Mel is also preceded in death by his siblings, Rose Smysor, Frederick David Boschert, and Marjorie Wilson.
Mel honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. For 47 years he owned and operated Boschert Auto Sales. Mel was a lifelong member of St. Peter Catholic Church in St Charles, MO. He was an active member of both the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was a long-standing member of Bogey Hills Country Club. He also looked forward to joining the coffee club for breakfast each morning at Bob Evans on Zumbehl Road. Mel was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Mel’s name to St. Peter Catholic Church or Duchesne High School.
