Melanie Carol Netzer

Melanie Carol Netzer, 66, of St Johns, Florida, was suddenly swept home to be with the Lord on October 3, 2024.
A celebration of her life will be at 2:00PM, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Craig Funeral Home, 1475 Old Dixie Highway, St. Augustine, Florida 32084, her close family friend, Lindsey Cook Brock III, officiating.
Melanie was born in Arlington, Virginia to Melvin Hugh Netzer and Theresa Ann Kozuchowska Netzer on July 1, 1958. Melanie always considered herself a Florida "native" as the family moved to Florida when she was a little girl. She graduated from Terry Parker High School and obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of Florida with a master's degree from Georgia State University. Her career in the insurance industry spanned 44 years and she was most recently still working with her "family" at Optimum RE out of Dallas, TX. Melanie was so excited to move back home to Florida in late 2022 to be closer to her family, friends, and her Gator roots. Melanie enjoyed traveling with close friends across the country and across the world. Family was always one of the most important things to Melanie. She cherished the times together on holidays, birthdays, graduations, and ball games. You could always count on Melanie to make a call or drop a handwritten card for every occasion or celebration. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, sister-in-law, friend, cousin, and aunt. She loved her nieces and nephews dearly. To all who knew her, Melanie was an example of compassion and care, always putting the needs of others before herself. As most people would say... "Melanie is one of the nicest people I know".
Melanie is preceded in death by her parents Melvin Hugh Netzer, Theresa Ann Kozuchowska Netzer, and sister Dianne Netzer Carter.
Melanie is survived by her brother, Beau Netzer, and his wife, Carol Netzer; nieces, Erika Netzer and Ella Goldberg; nephews, Ryan Carter and Rhett Netzer; her brother in law, Fred Carter.
The family of Melanie Netzer wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Dept., St. Johns County Fire and Rescue crew and emergency room staff at Baptist & Wolfson St. Augustine.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Fund in Melanie Netzer's name.
